I Confidently Decree®
The Story Behind “I Confidently Decree®”
My Dear Friend,
Confidence can be a tricky thing especially when the confidence comes from who you see yourself as in your career.
In 2020, the event industry as I had always known it, ceased to exist and along with it my job. Perhaps you can relate or have a similar story.
As I pivoted into the next direction my soul was calling me to go, poetry emerged as my new way of expressing my inner world and the uncertainty I was feeling.
This poem was written as I was stepping back into my soul passion of empowerment coaching. I realized that the confidence I had always felt in my event planning career was not showing up in the same way as I redefined myself on this new path I was choosing.
While I understood that everything was Divinely orchestrated for me to follow this new path, it took a while for my confidence to catch up and see myself in this new identity.
As you read these words, I hope you will find some comfort in knowing that confidence is always available to us. And it will emerge when we allow ourselves to let go of all the noise and claim it as ours.
I confidently decree®
I confidently decree that
I have blocked the confident side of me
I know this deep within my heart
Consistently tearing myself apart
Creating evidence in my life
Telling myself I have no right
To be heard, to share my dream
To let my brilliant light be seen
I rationalize my talents away
Saying that another has led the way
Feeling defeated before I start
My dreams so easily I discard
Excuses and distractions
Keeping me from following my passions
Now I clearly see
How I’ve been hiding me
All these false beliefs I’ve made true
Keeping me stuck, I withdrew
Stopped myself from being me
Keeping me enslaved instead of being free
Inviting You to Confidently Decree
Through letting go of comparing myself to others and placing limits on who I thought I could be I was able to tap into a well-spring of confidence.
I truly believe that confidence begins when we believe in ourselves – who we are and what we bring to the table.
Confidence is something we wear in our energy field – when we are confident, people feel it and when we aren’t they feel that too. But you have to feel confident first.
If you struggle with comparing yourself to others or tapping into your confident side, letting go of beliefs about who you are is a great place to start.
After all, confidence looks good on you and you deserve to confidently decree your confidence to the world!
Big Hugs,
Theresa
